About This Piece
I have received great strength from being in the mountains. I have marveled how much it does feel like a temple. The fragrance of mountain air, the majesty of nature that reaches up to the heaven is so magnificent. The scriptures tell us that Jesus often went up to the mountains to commune with his Father in Heaven. James E. Talmage says, “Messiah though he was, he was profoundly conscious of his dependence upon the Father whose work he had come to do.” What a stunningly, reverential truth Jesus teaches us in that his love for his father was all consuming as he obeyed him in all things, gave all glory to his Father and did the work he was sent to do. The uplifted face and heart expressing complete devotion is the central message of “O My Father”.
Matthew 14: 23
23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
